Margaret “Peggy” Dougherty,
CQA
Peggy Dougherty, a Certified QuickBooks® Advisor (CQA), is
Director of Accounting Services at Marien + Company, LLC. Peggy
is also Manager of the firm’s Certified Professional Advisors
Program, a partnership program with QuickBooks®.
As Director of the firm’s Accounting Services, Peggy oversees
staff training of QuickBooks® and other accounting software
programs. She also directs the computer conversions of clients’ accounting
systems and implements strict monitoring procedures to ensure efficiencies
in clients’ accounting departments. With many years
of training and a vast array of experience, Peggy is well-versed
in the issues and concerns facing clients’ bookkeeping staffs
on a daily basis. Her training focuses on state-of-the-art bookkeeping
programs, in order to provide clients with the most highly efficient
and effective systems.
Peggy is a member of the American Institute
of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) and has earned her Certificate
in Municipal Finance Administration from the Government Finance
Officers Association (GFOA). She
is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)
and is pursuing designation as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
As part of her continuing professional education, Peggy attends
a wide variety of classes, including the latest developments in
computerized accounting packages, payroll regulations, sales tax
updates, property tax reporting and other industry specific courses.
Peggy has been actively involved
in various business and not-for-profit organizations, including
The Connecticut Women’s Investment
Partnership, St. Patrick’s Cathedral School Home School Association
and the Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut.
A graduate of Fairfield University,
Peggy earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. Prior
to joining Marien + Company, her background includes many years
in the social services and health care fields.
